Photographer's Note

This beautiful temple is not far from Kumbakonam, and I visited it during the road to Pondicherry.

During that trip - my first trip in India- I used my Nikon 990 coolpix, now we can consider it a prehistoric camera! But I could save a lot of memories using it.

This huge temple gopuram is a big spot in the landscape.

It was built by Chola Emperor Rajendra I (1012-1044) in Brihadishwara temple style (near Thanjavur) built by his father.

This temple is dedicated to Shiva.
