Going towards Tanjore in Tamil Nadu, India, we passed from a little village, one of the many you pass along the way. There were people gathered in order to watch this young lady performing a difficult balancing act. (I intend to post the whole picture and the close up too)
She was so young, tiny, innocent but so serious and concentrated. Her parents were watching nearby ready to save her in case she fell. She was performing on a tight rope 3 mts high. I fell sorry that young children have to go through this to gain some money, but perhaps the father was exploiting the girl's unique skills to get money and save his family from starving. Tough questions to answer and tough decisions to make , especially when you are watching this from the comfort of your sofa with A/C and a popcorn bag...

Very good capture of street life of the people in India. The skils at wrong place. I wish the father had an opportunity to send her to school to enable her to play better role in her future!! TFS

Très belle prise de vue bien nette sur l'enfant.La mesure de la lumière est juste pour un bon rendu des couleurs.

Nice shot to reflect people in India.
Though they are not wealthy and difficultlife, I can say most of them are very happy to live. This is what I feel after travelling to India.

Yes, all the family have to work hard including the children, to be able to survive! Sad reality! The bamboo seems to be heavy for these small hands but there is no choice for this little girl and she has to accomplish her duty! She is very concentrated and knows perfectly what she is doing. A beautiful documentary image!

Savas: I like the tension in this image: and, of course, your note adds cultural relativity - it's a bit bright though... c

Hi Savas, You have many fine portraits in your gallery. This is quite unique and rarely seen. The DOF effect works well, keeping the focus on the subject. TFS. Murray
