These gopurams belong to Brihadeeshwara temple in Tanjore.

Gopuram, prominent feature of the Hindu temple architecture of South India, is the rising tower at the entrance of a temple. Gopurams are exquisitely decorated with sculpture and carvings and painted with a variety of themes derived from the Hindu mythology, particularly those associated with the presiding deity of the temple of which a particular gopuram is.

The people close to the gopurams give a good sense of proportions. There is an interesting contrast between the light on the gopurams and the shasow in the great place in front. I like the soft colors.

You're capturing well this historical architecture by a good composition, so it's impressive to see the scalpture carving of Hinduism style. An artistic detailed sculpture is given to the stone. And, the man and woman who is walking in the courtyard is giving friendly atmosphere to this photograph.

Indeed, gopurams could be an endless theme for photographers, with so many around, and such intricate architecture and decorations !
As for studying the meaning of the different sculptures, that would be the job of a life time !
Your light management here makes these two towers look like gold !
