Photographer's Note

These are group of pilgrims who walk to the Murugan temple in the town of Palani, Tamil Nadu. Some of the pilgrims walk upto 300 kms to reach the temple. They either wear saffron or green cloths. Each pilgrim carries a sort of palanquin called kavadi, with offerings to the god, on either ends. Thousands of such pilgrims assemble in the temple town during mid-January. I took this photo when my car was overtaking these pilgrims. Trimmed and contrasted the photo with WS.
