"Arjuna's Penance", a massive bas-relief monolith in Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram),is also known as "The Descent of the Ganges" because there are conflicting theories as to which story from the Mahabarata is depicted here. It was created in the 7th century, and is 96 feet long and 43 feet high overall.

I like the texture of the stone that you've captured for this bas-relief, but the frame that you've use not fit very well with the picture, in part because the line cut the feet of the elephant, the man etc. on the bottom.
Will be better to make the frame outside the picture.

Hello serge. A photo worth seeing. It reminds me of a stay in India. I also saw and admired the relief. I admire art, culture, religion and Exotik of the Indian. With your photo you set the motive wonderfully in scene. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Such amazing and intricate detail in these carvings, nicely composed showing this segment of the carvings. Black and white was a good choice too, it enhances them and brings out the detail well.
