Photographer’s Note

The history of Mahabalipuram, a town 58 kms from Chennai, dates back to two thousand years. It was already a centre of pilgrimage when, in the 7th century, Mamalla made it a seaport and began to make temples fashioned from rock. It is believed that seven magnificent temples were built near the seashore. However, the only survivor is the Shore Temple.

The Shore Temple is one of the oldest temples of South India, constructed in the Dravidian style. It is listed as a world heritage site by the UNESCO.

Well done, nicely constructed shot, the low POV works so too the composition. I like the way you have used the light on the foreground entrance, gives a good feeling of depth. The texture and detail on the stone surfaces presents very well. Excellent shot.
