Astonished from the first time I saw this granite-quarry two weeks before, I took Maciek along to discover it again and he was really impressed. He went on alone and surprisingly he saw the same on a different moment.
Maybe I am a slow editor but I didn't want to rehold you my capture of this miraculous environment, an incredible white landscape where work is done at high temparatures, no wind to cool off the working people so tiny in these immens pits.
You find this quarry here at Madurai near the Elephant Rock at 12km outside town, a must to see.
Have a nice weekend !

I thought it was a Lowry painting.
Such a strange landscape, must be unbearbale to work there with the high temperatures.

S U P E R! Grandissima immagine, contiene tanta storia, gli uomini sembrano formichine, ognuna col suo compito. Complimenti!!

Strong graphism in this well composed picture.
The "islands" of the workers and their bycicles in this white landscape look great.
The lorry in the upper left corner is a nice colorspot.

Bien pris et surtout pour la vue complete de cet endroit très attirant en couleurs.
Les personnages me font penser à ces bagnes du siècle dernier, casseurs de cailloux dans des conditions difficiles, où l'homme est petit devant l'ampleur de la tache.

Another great picture of hard work in India, Tamil. I t is terrible to imagine these people working in the heath, in the sun. And your shot make me really feel all that white stone, and the strong heath, and people so small, so undefended.

Amazing picture. I like here especially this contrast between white ground and colour peoples. Here we have a lot of stories in one picture. Lovely, beautiful, charming photo. maki

A real strange place giving a real strange picture !
The depth is strange too, with the bicycle as big as the colored truck (I like very well).
A great job, quite original in your gallery.

This is india. How many people will live here in 2010 ? Amazing picture with some bad feeling about the life of these guys.

Certainly is an astonishing view. Lots of little details in all parts of the picture. The details are all nice and sharp and the overall colour is fantastic.

Lovely shot Henk, brimming with little detail. Oddly it reminds me of illustrations in a childrens' book - like little stick people undertaking some activity or another - I think this may be due to the "painterly" quality of the shot.

schitterend, alsof het getekend is op een wit papier, uitstekende foto, zeer orgineel, uitstekend werk.
