Madurai - Samanar

In the evening the sun went slowly down to disappear totally in the mist soon after,
The hill was totally deserted.
At the horizont Naga Malai (Snake Mountain) veiled in mist. Madurai city at 11 km behind me .

Sitting in a natural carved bench ... a cooling blowing wind made this moment of enjoyment complete.

This is real artwork. Incredible light and amazing colours of the foreground rocks. Excellent lights/shadows controll. Masterpiece, no doubt.

Hi Henk,
a beautifull picture! The rocks are incredible and in a same time very strange...I imagine you use a flash to light up the foreground: very good effect. The background is also interesting with this nice setting sun.

This is wonderful rich textures and subtle colour Henk. the stones have a strong abstract character, but also look rather like prehistoric animals. The overall colour is wonderful.regards Kevin

Mooie zonsondergang in dit vreemd vlakke gebied gezien de heuvels/bergen eromheen.
Wat ik vooral erg mooi vind is de tekening van de stenen en rotsen op de voorgrond en de mooie kleuren daarvan.

Stunning color, and a heavenly vista. But I must say that the foreground looks a bit too 'light' compared to the light beyond...at least to my eyes.

Beautiful and wondrous play of light across this .. a sense of empty vastness with an incredible interesting set of elements and textures ... you can sense your wind from the light and stone .. an empty place that speaks very loudly .. into my favorites.
