Photographer’s Note
A group of statues at the Eastern entrance of Nataraja Temple (Temple of Dancing Shiva). The eastern gopuram (entrance tower) is 40 metres high and has 108 sculptured illustrations of Bharatanatyam carved on it.
A unique feature of this temple is that it depicts the Lord Shiva as the Lord of the dance Bharatanatyam and is one of the few temples where Shiva is represented by a statue rather than a Lingam.
