Photographer's Note

This shot was taken from a luxury beach resort close to the shore temples. GRT Temple bay. We also see a fisherman getting ready to head out to sea in the foreground. These colorfull boats were donated to the fishermen after the tsunami as we also see the paint on them is relatively new....

About the shore temples...
Close to the sea, the beautiful shore temple consists of two temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and a small temple of Anantasayana or reclining Vishnu.

The complex dates back to Narasimha Varman I (630-668) of the Pallava dynasty. Mamallapuram comes from Mamalla, one of the titles of this king.
