A universal guardian deity for most villages across Tamilnadu.
A proven "Kaaval deivam", he is a very prominant & assertive dweller, who is tried & tested.
There are many of his versions, mostly without a roof of his own, probably to say that he is always in motion & bigger than life like character.
Here you find him along the road side, in the highway between avinashi & Annur with his fleet, ensuring safe passage of vehicles in this stretch of road.

I think you got some blur from shaking camera and I would had cropped the left side of this factory out to spot more this typical colorful statue with the small satues on the side, indeed a very typical view necessairy to depict Tamil traditional expressions of religion on the most unexpected places.

A very good capture of the guardian deities of the villages in Tamilnadu. I like the colourful idol and the small temporary temple under the tree. But IMHO, i would have tried a closer shot of the deity and tried to get more clear view of the features.
Thanks for sharing Prem. Hope to see more good ones from you.

This is a good shot of our guardian deities of the villages. Mostly they will be sitting on mud horses weildign a curved sword. In our village, he is called karuppu saami. Nice picture to share about rural India.
