Photographer’s Note
Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple was built by Maharaja Marthanda Varma (1729-1758) in 1733 AD. It is one of the most impressive landmarks of Thiruvananthapuram city (South India). The temple has an imposing seven tier gopuram covered with beautiful stone carvings. The walls of the temple are covered with interesting mural paintings depicting mythical stories

Hi Venkatesh.
Good capture.
I know you have framed this from near the GANAPATHI TEMPLE at the corner. If you have moved a little more to your left, you could have made a different image with the KUTHIRAMALIKA and the METHANMANI which also has the same historical importance as the temple.
I have made a documentary for DOORDARSHAN based on the historical aspects of the temple way back.
Congrats, for bringing this image here.

A bit of nostalgia for me... I went to this place in 95. It was the same angle I clicked. I remeber,There used to be a little mud in between the iron barricade and the road. As I wanted to avoid the barricade ( grill) I took a jump holding the camera in one hand and trying to grab the barricade on the other. I landed successfully on the grill without damaging my camera.
And while coming back from the temple I bought a monkey crfted out of a coconut from the shops on the gangway leading to the temple.
Thank you for making me revisit the place. Sweet memories are hard to forget!!
Bishnu.
