This Male Chital (Spotted Deer) was posing in the middle of the road, we stopped a good distance from it, slowly took a couple of shots before he wandered off into the woods. Shot at Parambikulam.
For people interested to know more about Parambikulam, there's a well maintained website from the Eco Tourisim division of Parambikulam Tiger Reserve http://www.parambikulam.org/ Although Summer may be a good time for animal sighting, it is not really a good season to appreciate the beauty of Parambikulam. One has to visit this place just after Monsoon when the whole reserve undergoes a magical transformation.

A very good shot of this beautiful Deer.
It looks as though the spots have been painted on the animal!
We have masses of deer here in the West Country ,but not so elegant as your`s. T.F.S.

You've certainly captured this beautiful male in a wonderful pose...a really nice shot here. It must have been a thrill to see him like this...just beautiful markings and colors on him. Very nicely done.
