Photographer's Note

Tea plucking is an arduous and strenuous job which is mostly done by women at hilly regions of India. Here, the process of weighing of the tea leaves and then packing them in gunny bags is being done for transportation to the tea factories.

Do you notice how the men are just standing while the women are doing all the hard work? This is not to forget that this process is happening after these women have spent the entire day plucking the leaves and putting them in the basket at their back.

I apologise for the lack of clarity. This was taken while the vehicle in which I was sitting was on the move down the valley.
