Photographer's Note

Tea is a great nation-binder of India. It is produced in the north, the east and the south. Indians consume more than 30% of the world tea output.

It is no wonder, therefore, that tea forms a backdrop for the to-be-held elections in April and May this year, where around 800 million people are eligible to participate. With one of the prime ministerial having his roots as a tea seller, what else can one expect!

It is also the tea gardens that have a great role in making the town of Munnar as beautiful as it is. Situated at a height of nearly 1600 metres above the sea level, Munnar is now one of the most famous hill stations of Kerala.
