Photographer’s Note

Green Munnar,
seen on my way back from munnar top station.
It`s a nice 34 kilometers half day trip to there.
You drive through wonderful forests,pass two big dams and there are teaplantations everywhere,the highest one at an attitude of 2400 meters!!!The highest one in India.
Trees are often planted in between the tea plants to protect them against intense heat and light, particularly on the plains of Assam and Kenya, where sunshine is most intense. The trees also provide microclimatic and soil improvements. Geometric spacing are used, often in quite wide spacing. This, again, ensures uniform treatment (shade) and ease in mechanized operations. Common shade trees are Erythrina, Gliricidia, and Silver Oak.

Hi, Leo. Nice green tones and a good perspective with those rows of trees going up the slope. I like the way the central tree rises just over the slope of the hill.

Beautiful colors of the tea plantations..I remember this place. Looked a different shade of green when i was there.
