Thazhathangady Juma Masjid situated in the banks of river Meenachil is one of the oldest Mosques in India and is more than 1000 years old. which is made in the old Kerala style and is very famous for its architectural beauty, and the richness in wood carvings. The interior of the mosque is built using wood with marvellous craftings. The 1,000-year-old mosque at Thazhathangadi is believed to have been built by Malik Dinar.The mosque is situated just 2 kms from kottayam town and is on the route to kumarakom
