Photographer’s Note
THE NALUKETTU pattern of construction was the hallmark of the grand mansions of yore in Kerala. This tradition, which was dominant when Keralites lived in large joint families, had been virtually been swept away by modern trends. With the break up of the joint family system new construction patterns emerged.

Rajesh,
A nostalgic view for me...
Even in TN, we had old houses in the same fashion....
As you said It is all gone with the advent of concrete & I hate it.
I still feel those bygone days I used to run across these pillars in the mutram!.
Could have removed the date, & probably a shot form one of the corners, would have given a better perspective.
Cheers,
Prem.

Hi welcome on Te.
Nice try, I like the atmosphere you've caught here. Good sense of loneliness I think. The light you've capture is very nice, I like it's central origin and that it faints to the edges of the photo.
What I like less is the feeling that the photo/horizon is titled, turning a few degrees clockwise would make that undone.
Also like less the date and that you've cut off that painting (upper edge).
Anyway thanks for sharing, nice light.
