Third photo from Kerala, this time it is a view from seaside to the yard of Pepper House Café. This tiny café-restaurant is located just few minutes’ walk from the Fort Cochin bus stand on the bazaar road and very close to ferry terminal.
Pepper House is a waterfront heritage property located on the Kalvathi Road in between Fort Cochin and Bazar Road. The building consists of two historic dockside warehouses, one facing the street and one overlooking the waterfront. These large, two-story buildings with Dutch style clay roofs are separated by a large courtyard which would have once been used for storing goods waiting to be loaded onto ships in the harbour.
The small Café-Restaurant is an excellent relaxing place - set in the courtyard of the Pepper House. Open courtyard, with a view of the ocean, combined with the art gallery all around makes a very unique setting that's comfortable and peaceful.
The staff is attentive, the ambiance is very good and the simple food and drinks excellent; pumpkin ginger soup and red snapper with rice and tomato tamarind sauce was superb, ginger lemonade outstanding, not talking about the delicious cakes and ice creams with tropical fruit salad.
Nice place to visit and relax on your tour through famous Fort Cochin.

Good afternoon Miro,
well applied this photo, taken from shaded area to the inner yard of the mansion.
DOF and clarity are superb, roof tiles and white walls in fine contrast.
Have a nice weekend,

Ciao e buon fine settimana

I love the title, summons up images of childhood cartoons! A great shot too, excellent management of the light to retain the detail inside the arch and perfectly expose the detail outside of it. Nice that we see people enjoying the ambience you mention too. Pumpkin ginger soup sounds nice!
All the best

the dark framing by the arch is very solid and effective and makes everything included in the smaller frame more eye-catching and interesting. The dark frame has also helped you deal with the moody lighting and colours which now look brighter and more attractive. There's great depth and sharpness and the view through the gate looks inviting despite the dull weather and also thanks to your note:) Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Intéressant la prise depuis l'arche sombre, un contraste avec la façade dans la lumière et blanche, les détails des toits en tuiles, les reflets dans les vitres, un tout qui fait une très belle composition

You're capturing well this architecture by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see Pepper House with the beautiful harmony and historic significance. It appears to be taking over effectively even today in the another pirpose as the legacy of history. It's elegant for contrast of white outer wall and red roof with brick. And, the green courtyard in FG draws out a gentle healing in this place.

Great architecture in a lovely setting, the surviving landmark of its colonial heritage and an interesting bit of history with its fine illustrative image. Framing is superb the way you have used fraction of the arch as natural framing and apart from well coloured detail highlights registered, the exposure is fine for there's a pleasant overall exposure with the green patch offers such a relaxing feel and nicely contrast to the white building. Peaceful scene and absolute charming. Excellent capture, TFs

Interesting and informative note and a good dark frame for the white building at the back
Very well kept, indeed seems a nice place to enjoy all drinks and cakes you mentioned, a true relaxing atmosphere
Congrats for the capture and more for having being there

Good capture through the arch with the distance giving deepness. The tiling and white walls make a good contrast. The light from what I suppose was an overcast sky brought saturated colors and good sharpness.

You have employed one of my favorite techniques here: Frame within a frame (in fact there is a third frame in the lower left). I can't let this one go without registering my appreciation! Excellent find!

Dear Miro, a must see place of Kochi reminding the harbour was a key point for worldwide spices commerce, a difficult work affecting the nose in these pepper factories, it makes you sneeze so much, they sell high quality products there and numerous varities of pepper coming from the Western ghats mountains. All the best, have a good saturday

I guess this area was under Portuguese rule for some years. these details of architecture remember me Dutch architecture and I guess they took this area from Portugal. nice detail of the pace with good light and sharpness.
