The cemetery is located about 330 metres to the southwest of St. Francis Church, just off the River/Church Road. There are something like over 100 tombs dating back to the 18th century. The cemetery is presently under the care of the church and CSI. At the time of my visit to Cochin, it was open to the public. I checked the name of this military officer on the Internet, but to no avail. I am sure the gentleman realized when he embarked on a military career that "the paths of glory lead but to the grave".
