Photographer’s Note

"La scala a chiocciola" e' il titolo di un film noir del 1945 con Dorothy McGuire. Ricordo che la RAI lo mandava spesso quando ero piccola - quando la TV era ancora solo in b/n.
lungi dall'essere cosi terrificante qs. esempio di scala a chiocciola in ferro del palazzo di Mysore, che con il suo bel nero contrasta bene con il giallo delle pareti.

"The spiral staircase" is the title of a 1945 Hollywood thriller, starring Dorothy McGuire as a deaf-mute girl targeted by a serial killer. I remember this movie from my childhood, my mom loved thriller movies and in those days everything looked more frightening on b/w TV.
not so frightening this example of spiral staircase, an iron-wrought work which stands out pretty well against the warm yellow of the walls of the Mysore palace...

Nice play with these arches, the ones on the sides and also esp. the ones leading us deep into the frame to that surprising staircase... well seen...

Una splendida cattura condita da una nota 'forte' (che piacerà ad Anna Paola...)... avrei provato anche una versione in BN nel WS ... si certo qui il giallo ci vuole tutto ok!!

mi piace la profondità di questa composizione....il giallo che domina e lungo cui l'occhio corre fino a sbattere contro la sinuosa scala a chiocciola...

Ciao Cri. Altro che horror. La tua scala a chicciola, in ombra per giunta. Gode di una nitidezza eccezionale. Interessante la DOF e il lavoro con la luce.

Wow !
You've got a great eye to see that the arches could make a marvelous framing to this elegant staircase.
You've composed your picture in a very good way : the symmetry is perfect anf fits well with the square format.
The colours are very harmonious, the yellow and white are soft while the black staircase draws the attention.
Great picture, compliments.

sul mio monitor la vedo leggermente sovraesposta nelle alte luci (forse è questione di tarature diverse), ma sicuramente è una immagine piacevolissima e di grande effetto architettonico. Grande colpo d'occhio nell'individuare questo bel particolare che richiama la sinuosità degli archi. Domani vado a Castelluccio, mi dispiace tanto che non ci sei anche tu, in ogni caso te li saluto tutti!

I can only agree with ManuMay. Graphically; ir's superb, well mastered, well framed, with eye-catching patterns. The light is also very good and the staircase is a great point of focus in the perspective! When I think that I have been to Mysore palace but never noticed a so empty space! What did you say or do to convince the crowd to leave the place ?!?
