Photographer's Note

As mentioned in my previous post, Ametikallu is the highest and toughest mountain in the Charmadi Range of the famous Western Ghats. The peak takes the shape of a huge dome at its summit, resembling the shell of a tortoise.

The peak as seen here, is not visible from any human locality unless you have traveled 15km in the tropical forests of the Charmadi Range from a village called Shishila. This is one of the most isolated peaks of the Western Ghats, since there is no human habitation within a radius of 20km. With a thick forest cover and raw wildlife, it is one of the best spots for nature-photography. Enjoy colorful flowers, insects, amphibians and birds. Beware of Wild-Boars, Bisons, Leopards, Tigers, Snakes and Bears.
