Holi...The Festival of Colors of India...celebrated on the day after the full moon in early March every year.
Also please see the workshop and let me know which one is better, personally I like the one in Workshop with unusual Focus on the second face.

Hi Arindam, fantastic portrait!!!
you took the green face with an excellent focus, light and colours, so close...!
great background with a smiling painted face.

Great double portrait, Arindam, and it's hard to decide which i prefer. Perhaps more the ws. Have you done any with a shallower dof? It might also be interesting to see one in very sharp focus, the other bathed in colourful bokeh!
Amazing colour orgy... wish I could be there and have a dip! ;-)

Great composition of a close-up picture. And we definitely get the mood of Holi. I prefer the first one, with the background out of focus. Stronger focus on the softer expression. The more enthusiastic face comes through anyway through the blur.

great double portrait I like the other one also. But I prefer this one beacause I love the expression of his face...
Holi seems to be a great event!
I'll come too late
I hope I could see you there with sandip !

Very good pic, I love the sharpness of the portrait, an d, of course, the game of colors in the all image. It's very well done. I will tru a WS in order to see what happens when we focus on colors.

I agree with you - the shot in Workshop is the best. I like that the main focus is not so close to us.
The colours are beautiful and I would really love to join this festival - would be a good experience.

The Festival of Color is celebrated through out the world by Indian, and we have the same here in Penang, and was celebrated last nite at one of a well known temple.
Color powder was spalshed among celebratees and devotees in joyous and harmonious faces.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend the festival. But am looking forward to nex year.
In the multi racial country like Malaysia, festival of India provided the best photography subjects, and I always looked forward to each of the festival for shooting.
A very well taken portrait shot with excellent DoF and nice PoV. The cropping is excellent, friend.
I will be posting a festival celebrated by Indian and others durin the Masi Magam Float Festival which was held on the 13th of March.
I needed your help to provide me some details of the festival as I could not get any knowledge from the net.
Thanks and well done.

this is extremely well done. great DOF, and Sandip's face has come good out of focus.
do you guys have 2 days off?

this is one of the best. workshop is equally good. Colors in the cheek are captured very well.

A great double portrait. Good idea to have the face right in front & Sandip's face out of focus. Fantastic colours...how did you manage to get the other pic. in WS with diff. focus?

All 3 are very interesting shots. I really like the sharpness and detail of this work Arindam, as well as the unusual face painting. The focus is spectacular.

Khub bhalo dol' er chobi !! But I like the one which is cropped with the black boder.. as the eye remain in the frame trying to look at the faces. In this one the eyes tend to go the blank space ...
I am stuck in this space where I dont like the pics I am taking .. and its killing ..-(

The colors are so great that the tittle could be also the festival of colors !
for me the cropped version is much better and give a real clor blast !
i would love to see that festival, and i'll try to.

Very nice shot Arindam. I like that you have caught two people in the shot and not just the one. I also like his downward gaze. I think overall this is a little overexposed. I don't think you could avoid the blown out background, but I just find the overall tone to be a little light. A lower exposure I think would give richer, more saturated colors.

Arindam, lovely potrait.. personally I loîke the main post because of the focus... TFS. Bala

I was just browsing through your photos and it was really a very nice experience to see a different style and subject matter choice that is prominent through out your work. I like most of your photos over here.
I picked this particular one first, as the colours are really appealing to me. Nice creativity in chosing the POV and great DOF. I like the original post because of the prominent in focus foreground and a complimenting softer background and also the cropped one with tighter focus on the colors.
