Malls have become the major hangout for youth in urban India. There are lots of such malls springing up in every city of India. This mall (Garuda mall) in Bangalore attracts a large crowd every day. Weekends are very special here. But only 20% of the people coming to these malls turn out to be real shoppers, rest 80% of the people come here window shopping. The eating hangouts inside these malls are the major attractors. I took this picture two days before the Valentine's day. The mall was completely decorated for the event.
With enough space to park a thousand cars, the city's largest integrated parking complex and "shoppertainment" centre is spread over 11 floors and two basements. The Complex includes 2,30,000 sq. ft. of shopping and entertainment space on five floors, including a five-screen multiplex and a 140-room hotel. Garuda's entertainment options will include the INOX multiplex with five screens and 1,350 seats and activity centres for children. The complex will also offer shoppers a wide range of cuisines at a food court with over 20 food counters. Besides, there will be dining options in five exclusive restaurants serving Oriental, Continental, Mediterranean and Frontier cuisines.

Brillant shot and an interesting note,
The pic shows the modern urban india, looking for more urban pictures.
Foreigners are only interested in taking beggars, slums and cows, atleast people in india should try to show the world our new modern india

I totally agree with Arun, Its great to see India in this modern light. With all that I know about India and its up and coming modernisation, this is still a surprise for me. It looks very much like the Shires on a busy day (a local shopping center in Leicester), even with all those brown faces...however, it seems a little more interesting with the variety of food courts and hotels, etc.
I posted a picture of our local shopping center a few days ago, here the energy is somewhat different in your picture however. I was told to stop taking pictures by the security guard...would this be a problem in an Indian shopping center?
I would love to see close-ups of the shoppers/mallrats (an american term...not mine).

Joli mélange entre cette architecture grise symétrique et ces ballons roses qui donnent ça et là des touches de couleurs. Le cadrage est bien vu
