Photographer's Note

Inside the porch of the temple, a pillar depicts these emblems of the Chalukya dynasty (r. 543 - 753 CE). Two registers of lotus blossoms form the base for the framed crescent (lunette) above that contains: left, a boar; above the boar a curled lotus blossom; top centre, a solar disk; and right, what appears to be a mirror on a stand. The entirety is quite unique.
