A lingering illness has mostly kept me in bed since last Sunday, hence no critiques. But I hope to catch up soon.
Pictured here is a shop cum research centre of Etikoppaka toys (about which I wrote in my last post) which explores new organic dyes that make them non toxic and also new designs for the toys and artifacts.
The workshop which I mentioned in my last post is uploaded with this one.

Here you present the finished product for us to enjoy, and the bright appealing colors are such a contrast to the darker more industrial feel of the workshop behind. Once again, the craftsman Looks fully engrossed in his work making your shot feel natural and perfectly taken. Really nice scene, and I too appciate the Ganesh in the workshop.
All the best

I'm so glad that we have been able to see the finished toys. They are bright and colourful and would certainly appeal to children. Would they use them in a religious way or just use them like dolls?
Your photograph shows us interesting details of the toymaker and the wide range of tools and materials that he uses. In many cases, nowadays, many people are employed in the production of toys, each doing their own specific part of the production; this man is a one man factory.
My warm regards,

Namaste Satya. Interesting pair of photos this one and the previous one, plus the notes for both. Good luck to them, these people who are competing with cheap (but often unsafe) imports from China. Hopefully they have a good PR system that advertizes their products in the affluent countries or are most of their toys bought by the nouveau riche in India? Lots of details to explore in this photo. Best wishes and get well soon. Klaudio.
PS I love the bullock cart. Do they export overseas to individual customers?

Your note about organic dyes is most interesting Satya and makes a good accompaniment to this shot. The composition is all inclusive and I get a feel for the toy maker's studio and working environment.
I love the WS with te colourful little Ganesh's
Fello better son.

Il semble fabriquer de bien belles choses cet artisan. J'aime comment il est installé au centre de ses choses avec tout à portée de main. Une belle gestion de la lumière difficile dans ce genre d'endroit.

ourania (45088) 2014-06-11 12:13
this scene is very interesting, the craftsman is well placed in the frame that shows us a large part of the room in which he works. I like very much the perspective given by your downward point of view, depth and sharpness are excellent and there's a lot for the viewer to explore. I also like the graduating light from the left side, the warm, harmonious colours and the peaceful atmosphere. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

This is an excellent photo that not only puts into perspective the role of a human in making the toys, but also the instruments used. As for the toys, it can easily be related since we have seen such toys at home for long.
Loved the overall effect. On the one hand, it is simple but then, it is not exactly as it seems to be. This is one thing about a good photograph, there are so many things which are left unsaid.
I hope you are hale and hearty.

A well composed with lots of interesting things around as well as the beautiful low light levels showing the quiet moment between the artist and his artworks The ambient makes this look special and the addition of red tone is vital here thus anchors the eye superbly. You manged the exposure very well with lovely shadows lends the extra depth to the shot. Good effort and Congrats

This is very different from the Lego factory, and I would say much more interesting. For an outsider this may look chaotic but I am sure this man knows where he keeps everything. The two uploads plus this workshop photo give us an interesting and colourful insight into this small-scale local industry.
