Photographer's Note
Silathoranam - this rare geological arch at Tirumala Hills is estimated to be 1,500 million years old. The age of the rock itself is estimated to be about 2,500 million years. This rare arch is one of its kind in Asia. There are two more such arch is the world - the Rainbow Arch of Utah in the U.S. and Arch of Cut Through in the U.K. The arch has a span of 25 feet and height of 10 feet from the ground. This formation is at about the 1km from the famous Lord Venkateshwara temple at Tirumala, Tirupati.
I will post a closer view of the arch tomorrow.
From today i will post photographs of some places in around Tirupati.
