Photographer’s Note

She was so smart and friendly : although we spoke mostly with gestures she had understood immediately which kind of hut would be suitable for me in that tiny settlement : hers ! She arranged everything to make my stay there pleasant...

When leaving them, I found her looking at her husband that way - moved by the complicity between them, hands touching, I asked them not to move : they obliged, a bit shy…

Their son was there too : he has a brave smile but he was missing school as he was feverish that day, with a bad infection on one leg - hope he is well now !

elle est superbe encore cette photo Cath, le regard amusé de la jeune femme de droite et les deux autres quui sont si occupés à bavarder qu'ils ne voient rien... très naturelle image comme je les aime.

Salut Catherine,
This is a convenience store in India. you have got the lovely shot of the family's good expression with interesting green framing.
I also found such a little roadside shop useful very much. The shopkeeper was friendly anywhere, and entertained a solitary traveler with a conversation.

Those peoples have allways some similarities to my people in Turkey.
Often poor but happy. Amazing the boy at right.

Hello Catherine,
Big fat bold colours, three joyful people with big smiles...can we ask for more. that green acts like a natural framing around the picture and suits it very well. Despite the fact that the background is a bit dark (woman her hair is almost gone), i am still impressed on what the little Ixus can do. Very good quality for such a thing and in combination with your good eye you end up with a very nice picture...well done.

This plastic green frame is.... mmmh, fantastic!
The gestures, the poses, the happiness on the faces, the veils, the pencil and notebook, the colorful background...
A perfect setting for sure. But what differs from similar compos is the happiness in the photo, which is mostly eviden in your people photography. A photo full of positive energy.
