Photographer’s Note
The Naga are people living in the states of Arunachal, Assam, Manipur and above all in Nagaland.
Some of them are living in Burma.
The Konyaks are distinction Nagas, centering in the north of Nagaland, mostly in Mon district.
They have 6 Anges (Chiefs, kings) controlling all Konyak villages.
This picture was taken in the biggest konyak village of Longwa – situated half on brumes land and half on Indian land.
Just old men are still tattooed, and in the following series I’ll bring some of those warriors’ faces.
At the past I Uploaded 4 pictures of Konyaks from my visit on Dec 2006.
One chief died since then and the other is dying now.
a short movie that I filmed back then from other parts of Nagaland, I Uploaded in www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YTzV4R33xg
Enjoy!
