A salesman enjoying a glass of chai, sweet tea wih milk, in a street of Jorhat city, northeast India. His pleasant break was suddenly disturbed by a nosy foreigner with a camera.

Hej Gert,
A splendid portrait! I just like his expression here, he really looks a bit disturbed. like he is going to throw either that tin ot his tea at you. But I can see that this was an irresistable photo to take, with all these colours in front of him and the straight forms beside him. A very attractive picture!

A very good street shot! Nice and clear, and with simple framing. The chai helps the shot of course, and brings back recent memories for me. Lovely natural colors, with a very immediate feeling like we can reach out and touch him...and the onions and potatoes! Nice work, cheers,

Hi, Splendid portrait. What a sharpness and natural colours! What is it in the basket? Onions? Chai, brr. I drink a lot of tea but not with milk (instead of water). Luckily I had taken with me from poland some tea bags (to Madras :)). Good composition.

This is a really beautiful daily shot, the color and tone is very rich but natural. Beautiful composition with layer of element at different depth, from the foreground with onions and potatoes, the local merchant enjoying his chai. andthe background of the two chairs very symetrically display. Good clarity and sharpness. I love it.

Hej Gert,
IMHO, this is one of your greatest expressive/emotional portraits :) I like the man's facial expression! He looks a little puzzled. "OK, take a photo, and let me finish my tea!"
The bright colour of the onions in the basket looks just great - as in contrast to the rest of the area.
Concerning the composition, it's perfect.

Another brilliant street scene. The red onions contrast with all the browns. The salesman does have a disturbed look on his face - and his firmly gripped left hand also shows he is not at ease with the situation. Tfs, Marlene

A really great snapshop - this face, simply great! Here I like especially the composition of the picture with this darker background. It emphasizes the main character and his offers in a wonderful way. These red onions are a most beautiful detail here. We must thank this nosy foreigner for this very special portrait! ;-)

Excellent light for this street shot. Tones are very nice and the color of the onions works extremely well.
