Photographer’s Note
The Shingo La is one of the main Himalyan passes, and is 5090m high. I took this shot early in the morning whilst walking up, maybe an hour before the pass itself. The way the clouds were swirling round the mountains was captivating (and provided a good excuse for a rest from the uphill slog).
(taken with crap camera and scanned from an old bad print)

Crap or not camera you got the essence here of a very nice colored and contrast in this landscape.
Undoing the grains can make it even incredible.
I tried in the WS to show you.

Hi David,
Nice Himalayan landscape, with a mysterious atmosphere due to the fog.

This is a perfect illustration that a great scene and a skilled photographer is more important than all the equipment in the world. I really like the balance of light and dark in this photo, and the mist makes this very special. Great work!

Not Shingo La but this one rather looks like Shangri La to me! Such a great landscape, such a mysterious place. Love it. The fog makes this shot really special..
Cheers.
