DELHI-II( IMAGES FROM DELHI - SECOND IN A SERIES OF 5 IMAGES).
This is the front view of Jama Masjid from inside the courtyard.
Some more Tidbits about Jama Masjid :
Located opposite to Red Fort in Old Delhi, Jama Masjid has three gates, two minarets - 40 meters in height and four towers. The minarets are made up of red sand stone and white marbles bearing stripes of black colour. With a capacity to accommodate 25,000 devotees, it is the largest mosque in India. The main mosque is crowned by three onion shaped domes made of white marble and inlaid with strips of black slate. It has great religious significance as it houses a hair from the beard of Prophet and a chapter of Holy Quran written by the Prophet. Women are not allowed to go up the minaret without a male escort, and during the time of prayer, the minaret is closed.

You managed a superb clarity taking this pic. - but light was not favorable. interesting note along, gave good idea about the place. Most intriguing in sight are the domes and turrets.

Ce bâtiment est de toute beauté et la place devant encore plus belle. Par contre la texture de l'image est assez spéciale et la lumière un brin mal gérée.

This is a very nice building. It looks as though you shot this against the sun and made valiant postprocessing efforts to improve the quality. I've tried some ideas and have uploaded a photo to the workshop. I'm interested to read what you think.

Fascinating composition that shows us so completely this wonderful mosque, which had the luck to visit in the past, the presence of people give us the idea of the grandeur of the place.
Magnificent both crisp as the optimum lighting.
Good start to the week.

The composition is excellent, but there are some problems with the post-processing. The building is beautiful and you have shot it from a nice angle and a reasonable distance, which allowed you to include some of the people enjoying the atmosphere of the courtyard. But I find the picture too blue, and there are quite strong halos around the legs and bodies of the nearest persons, possibly due to oversharpening. To show you what I mean I made a workshop. Hope you won't mind.

Majestic image & congratulations on your highly informative notes.
Your chosen POV is very good & the content interesting - I would love you to present this image again possibly using a tripod to steady your shot & the light was not favourable to you. [ We cannot always take photo's at the right time of day ]

I think that you to much use your highlights, we get a green sky this is unusual.
Nevertheless a very nice picture.

Ciao e buona giornata

You're capturing well this architecture by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the huge Mosque with artistic design. It's interesting in three domes, tall tower of both side and central entrance gate. It looks like keeping unique design/shape for the architecture of the mosque commonly. And, it's impressive in wide courtyard in front of the mosque.
mirosu (15302) 2013-05-06 21:46
Nice view to the mosque. Your low angle viewpoint is also very good. But Allow me to criticize one important point, the photo suffers from Geometric Distortion (the mosque towers are leaning inwards). This can be easily rectified with proper photo software. Greetings, Miro

Beautiful architecture! Somehow when I see Indian architecture I sense some kind of mystique and aura. Nicely captured with good lighting and dof with nice details. Nice to have the people for scale. Well done, tfs.

beautiful piece of architecture. I have never seen it before. You are so lucky you could visit this amazing place. The weather was however not that great and the light very difficult so the sky is pretty bad but the place is amazing so it was definitely worth to share it.
