| Every night there are prayers, (puja) for the Gods in many places on the Mother Ganges river. Bells clang, drums beat, incense fills the air, as the priest or priests perform the ancient Hindu offerings. Anyone may come to pray. Varanasi is the most holy Hindu city on earth. |
