Photographer’s Note
Located in the courtyard of the Jama Masjid, Fatehpur Sikri's large mosque, the white marble tomb is set on a raised platform across from a small pool. It, like the rest of the city, was built in tribute to Shaikh Salim Chisti, the Sufi saint who correctly predicted the birth of Akbar's son and heir, Prince Salim (the future Emperor Jahangir). The original structure, finished in red sandstone, was completed in 1581, but in the early 17th century, the marble exterior of the present-day structure was added at the behest of Emperor Jahangir.
The square mausoleum (measuring 48 feet on each side) is topped by a single dome with a porch entrance on its south side. Broad slanting eaves, supported by intricately carved serpentine brackets, stretch around the top of the entire structure. Inside, the tomb's main chamber is enclosed by white marble lattice screens and at its center is the saint's tomb covered by a canopy inlaid with mother–of–pearl and ebony. Verses from the Qu'ran ornament the outer walls of the tomb chamber and its marble floor is inlaid with semiprecious stones.
Both Hindus and Muslims pray to the Saint for the fulfillment of the their wishes.

I recognized the place already in the thumbnail... I have to check my files, probably I have a shot of this place... This one is very pretty, with that reflection on the wet surface... I guess the place is always quite full of visitors, so it must be very hard to get a different mood; but the inclusion of the standing person in intermediate depth, on the side, is very good...

I slightly disagree with others who rate it as a gr8 shot. First I don't see a queue here, instead I see people standing randomly here or there. The reflection also kills my view instead of adding to it.
A scene buzzing with devotees or an old standing architecture- I don't get to see either of them.
For me, its a rather miniscule effort for a seasoned expert like you. IMHO your last few shots haven't been close to your own benchmarks. I hope you won't mind me speaing my mind :)
Your note is superb as always...

Hi Angshuman,
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the Tom of Salim Chisti. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi, my friend Angshuman,
The beautiful architecture of the mosque and its reflections on the water have a nice graphical effect, in a composition executed well in that the people play a good role and provides dynamism to the scene.
I like the luminosity and the beautiful colors of the picture.
The note explains to us clearly everything what you show us in the image, as usual.
A great work.
Warmest regards,
Josep

Hi Angshuman,
I did not only learn about the world by viewing this beautiful image and reading your interesting note, it is Darpan’s critique and your answer to him that taught me a lesson on veracity and tolerance. I think that in a way Darpan is right, the quality of this image is not what we were used to, it could have been captured by me (you being a member of the first division here while I am playing in the fifth…). But I appreciate the reason why you have posted it and it made me browse through the entire gallery of images from this fascinating place. My compliments for a worthwhile post!
Warm regards

Hi Angshu,
I bet that this is one of the privileged views that the architects had in mind when they drew this wonderful space, because all the image perspires harmony, despite the naturally disorganised presence of the people, which fill it with a life that I guess is always present, because when I visited the city there was almost nobody in the other parts of and this patio was much like you show here.
TFS, Regards,
José

Hello Angshu
It is nice to see Hindus and Muslims praying together...
You had a perfect light which illuminated nicely the edifices and the reflections captured in the pond which make for a good starting point! A clean and blue sky as well!
Best regards
Marilyn
