I had to look again when I saw this title Wanda! :-)

I think you have handled this very well. You have a good composition with him and (dare I say it!) his nuts.

Dag Wanda,
De man is netje gekleed, niet iets wat meteen gelinkd wordt aan Varanasi. Zijn serieuse blik en de manier waarop je hem hebt geportreteerd is klassiek maar iedere keer weer mooi om te zien. Scherpte en detailering zijn erg goed, zelfs in de donkere achtergrond zien we nog erg veel detail. Een mooi statisch portret, prima werk.

Should I pursue the Nut joke and add that he doesn't take his nuts for granted, judging by the extra weight placed on top? I could, but i won't follow the rest. It is a fine shot using the light to bring the nuts to life(??!!)Interesting details inside his shop add to the informative aspect of this daily scene. Regards. Klaudio.

beautiful portrait. he sells lots of things in his shop. i can identify cigarettes, film rolls, squases, pepsi. are the cubes placed on top of the nuts some of kind of sweets? tfs.

Very catchy title! I can see that you have traveled quite extensively through the Southern Hemisphere.

I think buying something off a shop in the rural places is a good start to warm the man's heart and to relax him, so photographing him will be not too difficult, although here he is still very unwilling to smile.

Nice natural light exposure and showing sharp details of stuff in the shop in front of him. In fact, I would title this shot as ' The Nuts and a man!' because the nuts are so prominent and upfront. Any guess why you shoot only 2 jars of nuts? :) That is silly nutsy question!

hehe, your chosen title is fast becoming a legend here on TE ;)) but i like the photo. very natural and descriptive about the man's environment. maybe i would have preferred a tad more light on his face but not necessary really. good work!

heheee, Wanda, this is quite a double entendre :)))
jokes aside - excellent portrait, I like a lot how you composed the photo with just a hint in the background of the multitude of products he's selling. I also like the dominat white and golden brown tones, and although it seems you had a pretty harsh light, you have managed it very well, nothing is overexposed. very nice work, my compliments.

I guess that everything was already written regarding the title that is quite catchy and for that reason I won't comment on it, altough it was the title that draw my biggest attention to this post. The composition with the two jars filled with nuts and having them in the sun while the man in the shade is a great detail that enhances the scene and focusing on what he is selling and less on him itself.

I'm surprised to see this man keeping all its seriousness; I think I couldn't resist smiling you if you would ask me to take my picture... I guess selling nuts is a serious business...

I'm not David Copperfield and neither do you, but I wish the man's face would have been in the light,rather than it's nuts. But still, details are there and the background is perfectly tone down, so he's still popping out.

Geweldige foto. Hoe de man poseert met die in en in sjagrijnige blik. Hij in de schaduw, zijn noten in het licht.
De titel is een van de beste die ik hier heb gezien.
