[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was doing an early morning stroll through the alleys of Varanasi with the intention to shoot some people and daily life scenes. I noticed a boy playing with his dog in the sunlight as I walked past one alley, but kept walking, then stopped and thought 'I really should go down there and see what I can get'. So I approached him with a smile and a toy, and soon all his family appeared from their house and it became quite a spectacle. In the end, I bought kites for them and participated in a kite festival with them over the next few days.
Here's one photo I took of him before everyone else got involved.

Hi Dave, you have come away not only with a lovely portrait of this child & his dog but also a beautiful experience, I'm sure one that will last a long time.
Well done
Thanks

Hi David,
Beautiful double portrait! He looks like he has such love for the dog and in turn the dog seems so content with the boy. Nice that you decided to go down the alley an it turned into such a great experience.
Regards
Wanda

Hi Dave, there is something about a boy with his dog, that is special, anywhere. This is a great portrait of the two of them. Sometimes those special shots are in the least expected quarters. Are we going to see some kite flying?

Thanks, John

This is really cute, I prefer your boy cuddling a puppy rather than the one (also in India) that I posted in WS for my yesterdays' photo (here and (here too), but these were not really pet dogs...
His hat is so colourful, did you enhance the colours ?
Nice portrait, anyway !
Compliments,
Cath.

This is really a great portrait. I like the expression on the boy and the dog is really sweet. Your note reminds me of 'me'. :) I love to get to know the ordinary people when I travel, a great way to learn about their lives. TFS

Hello David,

This is the type of images my daughter loves to see because of the doggie. Very nice portrait with both faces nicely focused. The colours seem perfect in my screen, not too bright and not dull. Good framing and interesting subjects. Cheers :-)

Hello David

I like your story about this photograph...great experience.
Cute as the picture you`ve take to this kid and his lovely dog.
I love it because of the way the kid holds his dog...with care...and the happiness I can read on his face.
Great shot with good light.

My kind regards

Hi David,

This is an enchanting portrait. I'm not sure who is the cutest - the boy or the puppy. I love the red hat. It's great how you got involved with all the family.

I can imagine a great moment, a warm sensation, rich sharing feelings... You cut the head but except that it's ok, especially the sharpness on the face.
