A group of priests daily in the evening at the Dashashwamedh ghat in Varanasi perform "Agni Pooja" (Worship to Fire) wherein a dedication is made to Lord Shiva, River Ganga (the Ganges), Surya (Sun), Agni (Fire), and the whole universe. Special aartis are held on Tuesdays and on religious festivals

J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical qui sert bien le mouvement de l'homme. J'aime aussi la vitesse choisie qui donne une belle impression de mouvement. Les couleurs sont très bien rendues.

Excellent capture of the movement of the fire while the subject holding it is perfectly clear. A great documentary image, with excellent rich colors.
All the best

this is superbly caught moment and very nicely framed too. The man kneeling in the temple is in full focus while the lantern with the fire inside got slightly blurred and one can see the swinging movement. Very pretty colors and well managed light.
Thanks for sharing

Namaskar dear Dwaipayan
Wow, what a wonderful insight into your culture and religion. The slightly blurred hand has a wonderful effect and sense of dynamism. The colours are brilliant and you have Nile the difficult light conditions extremely well.
Excellent shot, and thanks especially for your note

Wonderful captured the moment. Well colour management specially red and golden and compact framing of aarti performed by the priest. I have also this type of picture when I traveled Benaras in January, 2011. Well done.
with best wishes

I always enjoy these daily life scenes, the real side of any location and culture, not just the "touristy" sites. A good sense of motion with this capture, the act being performed is well portrayed with the motion blur. Nice, warm light...figuratively and literally. :) A solid documentary type of image, very nicely achieved! Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take care.
