Photographer’s Note
A bad quality scan of a very old bad quality pic.
Nonetheless, technical flaws notwithstanding, I still kind of like the pic, as it reminds me of my visit in Varanasi, which perhaps left the strongest impression on me, during my 3 weeks in India.
We were going on a boatride on the Ganges in the early morning and this fellow was out boatsman. It was very foggy in the beginning, but as the sun started burning away the fog, we saw first the small firelanterns for the dead and later the river and Varanasi's ghats were revealed for us. A very beautiful sight.

hi Henrik
i think you are right, the idea of the photo is great
the fog all around the boat adds nice mistery to the shot and I like the framing

Dav Henrik
I'm not a big fan of portrait but this one really pleases me. I love the symmetrical lines created by the boat and the oars, the mist and the grainy BW and the humanity that comes out of this man's face.
Congrats

This is actually a very beautiful and interesting photograph. Yes, It's a photograph, not a picture.
Apart from the "a bad quality of a very old bad quality pic." it's actually a very good photograph, in my opinion of course. Well done Henrik.
Regards
