Photographer’s Note
Prayag at Allahabad apart from being thronged by millions of devotees for the holy dip during the Kumbh Mela, also plays host to thousands of Brownheaded and Blackheaded Gulls who fly all the way from the high plateaus of Central Asia and Europe during the winter. A favourite haunt is the Sangam with its constant flow of pilgrims making offerings to the river goddess. The Brownheaded and Blackheaded Gulls are differentiated on the basis of the wing pattern. Like most gulls, they are highly gregarious in winter, both when feeding or in evening roosts. This bird was captured early morning as it flew over my boat. You can catch hint of the rising sun on the horizon.

Stunning shot! The lines of the roof radiate out in a very interesting pattern, which when you look at the bird reminds us of a cage. The starkly graphic silhoette gives this a lot of impact and it immediately gets attention. Well done!

Hi Sabyasachi da,
What a perfect timing dada.the diverging bamboos and the gull within looks brilliant. Probably there is one at the bottom, a non-distracting for the eyes.

Hi Sabyasachi. The silhouettes make for one heck of striking shot! I love how soft the light was and the fast shutter speed ensured good sharpness. The bird is in the best position possible too. Awesome catch Sabyasachi!!

Olá Sabyasachi, pretty cool shot. The graphism of the boat's roof gives a wonderful perspectived pattern filling very well the whole image. Also love the sillouetted bird and the beautiful lighting. It's a pitty that it's not better placed on the net, for a more perfect result, but this is allready great. I see that another one was also joining the other ;-)

Hi Sabya,
An unusual composition from you, and a great one at that. The light seeping through the bamboo fence and the gull just posed for you...didn't it? ;)
Wish you could have avoided the wing in the bottom, but then i know it is asking for too much ;) lovely light...another great image from you.

Hi , Sabyasachi.
Excellent shot !
I like particularly the harmony of colours from the dark greyish blue of the night to the promising golden rays of the sun . The silhouette of the bird with it's spread wings is the crown of fulfilmant !
All the best to you

Hi Sabyasachi,
Once again your sharp eye saw an oppotunity and you seized it. The perspective here is amazing, and what an unusual shot. The gull takes on such a persona of its own and indeed looks as if it owns the place. The lines and graphism combine with the virtually monochromatic tones for a high impact shot. Well done...later.

Hi Sabyasachi,
If the gull had been a bit more cooperative and positioned itself nicely between the two diagonal poles, this shot would have been even more succesful. Even so, this shot has a lot of impact, thanks to the strong patterns of the wooden framework, lit by the golden hues of the rising sun.
Proof that simplicity is best.
Cheers,
Ben
