The colours are mystic and add to the mood.
The subject shows a great sense of calmness and conviction in his face and that has been captured well by you.

Intense scene here with this buried Sadhu doing some penance!the color tones add to the dreamy and meditative mood of this picture... I ve seen one Sadhu buried up to his neck in full sun... staying there for days or even years!
Greetings from Goa

Hello Vivek. A picture fascinating unusual in each regard and. The Sadhu appears like a spirit without lower body from the ground. This is a picture, as one does not see it to each day. Best regards, Wolfgang.

This is fantastic Vivek, getting stronger and stronger day after day. An excellent picture! Greetings from Kathmandu.

hey Vivek, it takes meditating over this picture to say something worth saying..don't know If I've meditated enough:-)it's his face that matters here a lot, but there's also this bluish smoke(?) in front of him that's intiguing me, it looks almost as if there was some spiritual force hanging out around him...even if it's only a trick of mind, I love this aspect most. great job.

An incredible and deep impact for this shot !
This man's attitude is perfect with the foggy atmosphere.
Your POV brings some strangeness.
A great one,
ninaL (21348) 2007-02-10 9:34
Hi, Vivek. I like it very much beceause of a very dynamic aspect of the shot.
The man is in meditation, but this compo and smoke make it dynamic and full of life.
I like the compo.
Best wishes. Grazyna.
Standa (1877) 2007-02-10 9:52
great shot full of mysterious feel.
Maybe it would be better a little different composition? Maybe from the right side (it will highlight more the face instead the stick).
polter (7239) 2007-02-10 10:49
Wonderful shot. The expression of sadhu's face is great but the composition and foreground elements - the smoke especially - make the atmosphere. And that delicate ray of yellow light... Brillant thing. Greetings T.
Wanda1 (15142) 2007-02-10 12:20
A great spiritual shot. I like the expression on his face and your use of depth of field.
cunejo200 (7281) 2007-02-10 12:57
First time for me to see someone in meditation in what appears to be an uncomfortable position. He looks like he is in deep trance, and you managed to capture the meditative and emotive expression on his face. Good colors and DOF. Greetings! Danilo
TravelerNL (3011) 2007-02-10 13:03
Impressive photo with a great POV and compo. You captured the expression on his face very well. Well done.

This is poster quality ... very dramatic and spectacular! The symbolism you subtly created makes this composition not only visually interesting but also very tantalizing to the mind. EXCELLENT!
isabela_sor (47748) 2007-02-11 1:16
After reading in forum your answer for Subir I understand your POV and your picture better!Really amazing scene so well captured, dear Vivek
A nice Sunday
sabyasachi1212 (19779) 2007-02-11 1:43
An excellent composition, a very interesting POV. The sadhu does seem to be buried from this particular angle. He is for sure not the stereotype sadhus one comes across with his young face ans starched shirt but that makes this all the more interesting IMO.
bhuniatrekearth (764) 2007-02-11 8:17
Dear Mr. Sisodia,
A very powerful composition of a mental state.
The title should have been "Devotee" because more accurately the picture reflects the trance state of a devotee.

vagabondtravels (6511) 2007-02-12 22:53
Great shot of this Sadhu. I really like how you have captured him through the smoke. Good comp and colors. Nice work.
ben4321 (9875) 2007-02-13 13:46
I saw this the other day, but got distracted by the blue boat.
I think this is really superb. The rising smoke/incense and desaturation of the colours make for a wonderfully atmospheric image.
This must take real dedication, and dedication is something that is etched on his ash-covered face.
Excellent work Vivek.

Quite unique presentation on TE.
IMHO - one of the greatest of your posts, Vivek.
Won't comment any further...there is nothing to comment.

Stay highly spirited, pal.

Superb powerful image. I am glad I found it. I can hardly express the strong feeling that provokes on me. The face of this man, in meditation, evokes a very primitive, archaic relationship with nature. His buried body is the representation of his physical connection with the ground, with the primordial element. I just cannot stop looking at it….The smoke and colours increase the mysticism of this image… Striking shot.
