Photographer’s Note
Mendi-Henna..
Used by Ladies of Indian subcontinent to color hands...
Earlier henna used to be applied in a simple form just as dots to color hands on different events like marriages and functions.
nowadays it is applied in lot of designs depicting various life events...
It has become a complete art in itself and various competetions are held.
A perfectionist in applying henna charges Rs 500 for two hands..

Hello Nipun,
This is a very thought provoking photograph. Is there a reason why the one thumb is left bare?
The green material compliments the color of the henna. When I look at it I feel like it is pages in a book that I can't decifer.
