Photographer’s Note
Amritsar is the home to the Harimandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, and is the spiritual and cultural center of the Sikh religion. This important Sikh shrine attracts more visitors than the Taj Mahal in Agra and is the number one destination for non-resident Indians (NRI) in the whole of India.

Hi Steve,
Now you are really making me want to go back to India soon with your shots. Another cool night shot from the Golden temple, this time super sharpness throughout so we can see some of the wonderful details like the lights on the temple and oh so nicely reflceted in the water too. And of course the Sikh man lighting the candles is just great, a nice moment with good use of the ambient light.
Regards
Wanda

Hi Steve,
Good picture. I like the composition you've choosen, with the focus on the gentlemen lighting the candles but behind him a good clear shot of the city.
Cheers,
Chrystyna

Eh Hola!
Excellente!
Hasta la vista,
Javier

Great framing – the character in the image really creates life and feeling in the shot, and the background sets the seen of the scale of such an event…congrats

Another image with the LIGHT as protagonist, seems to me charming this photo with the man lighting the small sails and the most surprising thing is that it is a photo taken in the future..... 30/10/2008. :))))
Congratulations friend Steve for the big work.
A hug from Spain.

A truly outstanding picture, suitable for yesterday's Diwali festival. A very clear shot at such a dim time of day. Good work.

Beautiful light and perfect exposure that the foreground balances very well against the beautiful background.

Hi there, what a beautiful night shot! I'm just back from 3 weeks in India but didn't get to Amritsar. However your picture reminds me of all the Diwali decorations that I got when I was there!
