Jammu-Kashmir is the most northern state of India, at the doors of Pakistan and China
It has the particularity to have 2 capital cities, one for the winter season, Jammu and the other one, Srinagar, for summer

Une composition "classique du sud-est asiatique , meme si on est ici en Inde :) , avec la pirogue qui vien en diagonale au premier plan , et un paysage exotique en fond de décor . TRès jolis reflets. J'aurais peut être redressé la rive opposée pour qu'elle soit à l'horizontale , car ça donne une impresion d'image qui penche . Mais je sais que tout le monde ne le voit pas ainsi .

Hello Patrick,
The orange shikara is not just eye-catching through its striking colour, the calm water also makes it look like some very strange construction, almost like a kind of catamaran. Srinagar is as different from Jammu as if it is another country. In Jammu you are clearly still in India, while Srinagar is somewhere else, far away.

Beau paysage et jolie composition exploitant joliment cette pirogue locale colorée et la douce lumière du moment. C'est vrai, comme le souligne Denis, que l'on a un peu le sentiment que l'image est penchée, ce qui n'est certainement pas le cas.

Wonderfull capture from Srinagar.
Very good pov and perfect layout. Nice soft light allowa us to see every single detail of the scenery.
The boat with dominant orange color and it's reflections is great.

Dear Patrick this is a fantastic vieuw,and Im glad you show the beaty of a country with such a negative name for the last decades.
Personally I would have made it a bit darker in the ba ckground to get the max view on the mountains.

C'est vraiment une très belle image. La grande chaîne de montagnes en arrière-plan complète la scène parfaitement capturée. La photo possède presque la qualité onirique avec des couleurs et le contraste très doux. Le bateau d'orange occupe la position idéale dans la photo. Tranquillité et paisible, il n'y a absolument rien, ce qui perturbe le calme de la surface de l'eau. La texture bien réfléchie du ciel sur l'eau avec la réflexion tout aussi magique du bateau, c'est une image du calme invisible.

Hello Patrick - This is a wonderfully tranquil scene. The little orange boat is gently gliding through the water barely creating a wake. Such a tranquil scene, I would have thought the mountains would be snow-capped, but I suppose these impressive mountains are still foot-hills. Nice reflections of the clouds in the lake.
(Do you have a slight tilt or is it the lens perspective?)

The boat looks to be floating on air. The image is luminous and the reflections charmingly symmetrical. A superbly executed photo of your usual high quality.

Je n'avais pas imaginé les bateaux au Cachemire si vivement colorés.
Celui-ci flotte joliment entre les nuages reflétés dans le lac.
Une bonne composition avec une belle vue sur les hautes montagnes du Cachemire.

We all travel, but somehow you are able to find such fantastic POV for every shots. This one too is just awesome. The landscape in soft light and pastel colors, the boat finished the composition perfectly, and it is the anchor point to our vision, and its colors really draw out attention.

the little boat really stands out in this picture with its prominent position in the frame and lovely bright colour. it is contrasted against the lovely natural colours of the surrounding landscape. it is such a tranqil scene. the sunlight is beautiful and illuminates the shoreline very nicely. and what a backdrop with those wonderful mountains. have a great day,

This is one place I heard a lot about and would wish to be there.
I like the cool and calm atmosphere that you captured here and must be what you would like to portray this place to be. The reflection is simply lovely and the slight ripples from the movement of the oar is very pleasing and add dynamism to this crisp composition. Lovely shot indeed!!
