Paradise On Earth Photo

Photographer’s Note

It is taken in gulmarg, Kashmir. It is situated at a place some kms from Srinagar. From here you can avail 'gondola' ( rope way ) and reach Ufarwat, a place in the border of India and Pakistan. It is at the top of the snowy peak.
I took it with my old baby camera- kodak KB12. My camera in that time was not a digital one. There are so many problems with it, I know. But I just loved that place, so I am now sharing it with you. Hope you like it.

it looks a pleasant place for resting and forget about the problems. I like a lot the composition which makes good use of the snowed mountains in the background and the reflection on the water. Considering it's an image of an old camera, I can say the quality of the scanning is good. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Gulmarg, I remember the place very well. But since the troubles started in Kashmir I never returned. But I know, I will have to come back one day. However there are so many beautiful spots in India ... You did an excellent scanning job by keeping the high sharpness and brilliance of the colors. Well done

I have also visited this place in both seasons, in summer and winter, but not seen any water anywhere. You are lucky to find out to capture the mirror image of snow covered mountains. Superb photo. Congrats.

la parte in primo piano mi piace molto con lo specchio d'acqua e i suoi riflessi.
Tanto verde intorno con le bandiere colorate a ravvivare lo scatto.
La perdita di definizione è comprensibile per quanto dici nella nota.
Il paesaggio è molto bello e hai fatto bene a proporlo.

Though you took this photo with your old analogical camera, I think that you have a success in the process of scan, and maintains great part of its original quality.
In addition, the landscape of forests and mountains covered with snow and its reflections on to the water, they create a very agreeable image to look at.
It is a beautiful work of recovery of a former photo.

So this is a scanned image? That explains the lack of sharpness. Anyway it's a good image of an interesting place - quite different from usual India! The reflections on the lake are lovely and so the sight of the distant mountain range with it's magenta colour.

what a beautiful place with a great nature. I would never have expected snow-covered mountains with a ski lift and pinewoods in India! An impression in the best spirit of TE . It was a good idea to scan the analog photo since there are only few impressions of Gulmarg here on TE. TFS!

Beautiful scenery, it does looks rather paradise like. Earth is paradise.
Northern India is very different the central and south, it is much colder, but more pristine and peaceful. I wish to visit one day.
Photo quality is not the best due the older camera in film but very beautiful in color and perfect composition. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks

Good result of a scan...no doubt about it...not a great camera as well, but the result is impressive. Like the reflections in the mildly rippled waters. It must have been very difficult to get the colours right from the scan...but well done!
