Photographer’s Note
I was walking back to my guesthouse from Sankar Monastery just outside Leh, Ladakh, along a footpath, when I met two children. I loved this little girl with her hand knitted sweater, pearl necklace and friendly look.
Ladakhi people are mostly of Tibetan stock, as is this little girl, but many of the inhabitants of Leh are Moslem and quite ethnically different. it is interesting to see the juxtaposition of these two quite different cultures living here peacefully together.
