Photographer’s Note
Thiksey monastery in Ladakh is situated on top of a steep hill. Climbing a difficult path at an altitude of more than 3000 meters above sea level was quite strenuous and I had to take a rest several times. Near the top of the hill I met this monk who probably also had got tired and needed to catch his breath.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

Hej Gert,
Very fine colours! With a calm and undisturbed background like this, it could certainly serve as a motive for a painting!

Hi Gert, Are yes, we all need to catch our breath from time to time. I wanted to see more of his face and textures in his clothing and thought that the sky and wall above the level of the mountain did not add much, so I did a WS, see what you think (Oh blast - I've reached my WS limit, will post the WS tomorrow). Cheers, Steve
