This is a photo of the thiksey gompa shot while i was walking back through the fields to Shey to catch a local bus... That day, the sky alternated between bright and stormy...ideal for some shots...

quelle belle lumiere !
le coup de zoom écrase ce village sur la montagne et ces jeux d'ombres et de lumieres donnent une profondeur superbe.
belle prise de vue.

This is a wow, Eric. What a stunning landscape, the rocks are so impressive. Is this a village or a monastery? I don't know what 'gompa' means ;-). Have you been there, or just taken a picture? I like indeed the paly of sun and shadow, and the dark corner on the right is very nice. I love your landscape shots!

a nice one and different one from Thiksey. I almost thought it was in leh.
Nice catch and nice to see it differently.

I'm used to seeing the normal 'front view' of Thiksey so this came as a pleasant surprise. The best phtotos allow you to see the world in a different way and this one certainly does that.

Très belle lumière et belle composition. Joli jeu entre ombre et lumière ! Bien vu...

You're right about the light. Nice landscape, with a Tibetan theme...

I just saw your new post on this gompa - I like it, but this one I like even more. For me, the difference is in the background. I'm a fan of those "no sky" shots where you use mountains or hills to fill the background. In this shot, the cloud shadows create a great light pattern on the barren mountains, very dramatic and much better than sky. The gompa seems so small in front of that background.
My compliments for your excellent work,

Oh, I am seeing this one now, after your next one showing the same object. This is even more interesting showing a lot of the impressive sorrounding landscape. Very beautiful how smooth the buildings are adjusted on the rocks. The light on the huge mountain behind gives a very spectacular effect!

Wonderful landscape Eric, and it works great without the sky! I really like the composition and I think you could've zoomed out a little more, because that dark part in the top right is just incredible=I want more! It's a classic this one.; perfect foreground, the motive in the middle, and very dramatic and wonderful background!
Light is the key here, and I think I would've spent half a year at your spot there just to be able to produce this image in all kind of conditions... ;)

This photo is a wonderful tribute to nature! I like the vast scale of the compared to the architecture. Very well done!

Magnifique lumière et paysage grandiose. La petitesse des hommes face aux éléments terrestres.
