Photographer’s Note

I was in Stakna Gompa and I can just remember one thing: this old Monk did't speak with words.
He spoke with wonderful smiles.
I know that the light behind him is an error but, at the same time, it looked like somethig of sacred and mystic.
I spent one of the best moment of my life there...

Hi Paolo!

The first thing which comes to my mind is that it is a nice portrait, through which we can feel your complicity with this venerable man. The colors are good and the door opened allows us to see how colorful and decorated it is on the other side. Yes, it lets the light come inside... And then?

questa foto è bellissima! L'espressione di questo moaco riflette una grande pace interiore come conferma la tua nota.
Ed è anche vero che la sovraesposizione della porta in realtà aggiunge un tocco mistico allo scatto.

If only we carried thin veils with us we could have made such brilliant images, I have some with the light like this too, I don't like it so harsh, but if that is how it is then better that then nothing.
Apart from that its a great photo and the old man has a contented expression. Wonder how many look like this in the western world, contented with life!

your own critique does you justice..i know as one views the subject certain items seem to be not so prevalent..
the light at the back however hasnt taken over the exposure settings and you have got a good shot there with eye catchlights and a certain charm and twinkle..a happy fellow
