Pangong lake Photo

Photographer’s Note

I did not find enough good pictures of Pangong lake in Trekearth so I am adding one of my favorite captures of this magical lake.

Geographically a part of the Tibetan Plateau, this lake is politically half in India and half in Chinese occupied Tibet. This Shot is from the Indian side, at 4250 meters above sea level.

Used Polarizer. No Post-processing.

Hi Itamar...This one is quite a contrast to the Pangong Shot i have in my gallery..amazing how the topography can be so different..i took it around May end..clear day..got emerald blue and green colurs..This one is a beauty of its own..very sharp composition..the reflection and sight of a snow clad peak is quite refreshing..( being a mountain lover myself..)

Indian Himalaya fascinates me a lot, as it is dry, no trees, and very beautiful light. A sort of high altitude desert, so different from what we are used to see in our mountains. Your picture summarises all these features. Then the snow here is the perfect touch of color. White is a color, in this case.

Excellent view of the arid mountains contrasting well with behind it the snow covered peak and its reflections in FG giving depth, beautiful lines and clouds adding more character to the image.
