Photographer's Note

Hemis Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Drukpa Lineage, located in Hemis, Ladakh. Situated 45 km from Leh, the monastery was re-established in 1672 by the Ladakhi king Sengge Namgyal.
The annual Hemis festival honoring Padmasambhava is held every summer.

I darkened the background in photoshop so that the monk would stand out more clearly.

Portraits are not my speciality, but this one may be not too bad...
Regarding the composition, I would have preferred having the monk slightly more to the left. Next time...

I am re-posting this photo, following 'Highmountains' advice: I darkened a bit more the background and increased a bit the contrast and saturation. I also think it works better...
